Nobody likes Joe Biden and nobody thinks the economy is doing as well as the media tells us it is. They didn't think that in 2022 either, but Democrats were able to con zoomers into thinking they were going to have their student loans paid off and unmarried women that only being allowed to choose an abortion up until twelve weeks was a human rights violation. But as the saying goes, "It's the economy, stupid." And CNN's Jake Tapper can't figure out why more Americans still shun Biden.

The latest CNN polls:

• Job approval: 41%
• Handling of economy: 37%

Tapper thinks he's Bill Murray trying to drown Punxsutawney Phil: "I feel like I've been noting this for three years — President Biden is out there heralding such and such, and the American people disapprove overwhelmingly! Three years in, we're still having this conversation!"

NPR's Ayesha Rascoe, doing the broken clock thing, brought up two excellent points. Even if she may have stumbled upon them on accident:

Biden is not the type of candidate that gets people all worked up.

Correct. People don't wear Biden hats while standing on the highway corner waving their Biden Pride flags.

I think part of it is that, when you had inflation, that’s such a pocketbook issue. It really hit people where they hurt. You’ve got interest rates up. It’s just a lot.

See, that's the point elitists like Joy Behar don't get and elitists like David Brooks almost get, but not quite. It's easy to rely on statistics to justify your candidate when you have so much money you don't feel any pain yourself. Clueless Behar can claim Americans are having an easy time "putting bread on the table" because she doesn't know where everything from her panty came from or how it got there.

To other people, while inflation may have "come down" it's still higher than it was. Low employment rates don't matter when you struggle to support your family with the job -- or jobs -- you do have. And Biden's agenda (that he still on occasion blames Russia for) is the key reason why things are so unaffordable.

The only statistic that matters to voters is what I call the "everyone I know" metric. Assign a number to yourself based on your job status and how expensive you find everything (food, gas, utilities, etc.). Plus one for everyone you know who is doing okay. Minus one for everyone you know who is not. That's the only number that matters to people when they vote, and it is how they judge the people they vote for.

For elitists who work in the media, everyone they know is doing fine. They also didn't struggle to make ends meet during the pandemic either.

For Normie-Americans, that is not the case, no matter what monthly statistics Joe Biden's government comes up with. Hence why people who work for CNN (or MSNBC) not understanding why so many Americans don't slurp Biden as much as they do.
