Joe Rogan and Ben Shapiro are favorites here at LwC and throughout the Crowderhead Universe (see Joe Rogan Defends Police: ‘They Have an Almost Impossible Job…’ and Ben Shapiro Absolutely Wrecks Cenk Uygur at Politicon Debate). So naturally we were pleased when Rogan and Shapiro joined forces to discuss all the things yesterday. Seriously, it was almost three hours. But the video below mainly highlights the lack of free speech on college campus and what the true difference is between "liberal" and "leftist." If you're a regular voyager of podcasts, you'll want to tuck away the full version for later.

Hold tight to thy rear ends...

Some of the points made above may sound familiar. Great minds and all. Still, they're worth keeping in mind when you get into it with that special leftist in your life. Especially this one:

ROGAN: It's bad for the whole idea of being a progressive or being a liberal. It makes them look really petty and really weird, and really resistant and hesitant to actually have real debate.

SHAPIRO: I actually separate people who are "liberal" from who are "leftist." When there are people who try to ban speech, I call them leftist. And if they're not interested in banning sppech, then they're liberal. Meaning, they want bigger government, they disagree with me on politics, but they still willing to have a conversation. People who are on the hired left actually think it's an insult to their identity to disagree with them. Sometimes you get this routine from people who conflate their viewpoint with their identity, and then if you have a different viewpoint you're 'denying them their humanity.' No, I just think what you're saying is dumb.

I think we can all agree modern leftism is the mutated demon child of liberalism. Hence the recent exodus of classic liberals from the left (see Dave Rubin Perfectly Explains Why He Abandoned the Left). Even they can't stand SJWism. After all, there are certain disparities between the two; like disagreeing with conservatives vs wanting to wage guerrilla warfare against conservatives. Small details. Essentially, classic liberals are willing to debate while modern social justice activists light their Berkeleys on fire instead.
