No, he is not a secret conservative. And there could very well be a cynical reason why the Pennsylvania Senator is sounding more rationale we'll get to in a minute. But until he has an opponent for 2028, I'm going to enjoy John Fetterman whenever her dumps on things that the Left holds dear. Today, it's his alma mater Harvard.

The institute of high "education" has been in the news thanks to now former president Claudine Gay. After not being fired for being an antisemite or a plagiarist, she resigned over the distraction people being mean about her being a plagiarist were causing. Fetterman was asked about this and the BDS movement popular at universities like Harvard in an interview with Semafor.

BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) is a movement by the radical left (which makes them average Democrats) to boycott divest from, and sanction anything Israel-related. The claims were always that it wasn't antisemitic, it was just a criticism of the Israeli government. The then October 7th terror attack happened. On October 8th, the response to the attack proved the Left just hated the Jews all along.

Fetterman was asked about what's been happening at Harvard and his opposition to BDS, which to his credit predates October 7th.

I don’t understand how anybody could vote against the Iron Dome, or want to harm Israeli businesses or the nation or anything. I’ll never understand that. Calling them “colonizers” — like, where does this come from? It must be TikTok or some kind of obscure classroom talk. As an alum of Harvard — look, I graduated 25 years ago, and of course it was always a little pinko. But now, I don’t recognize it.

Fetterman is a disagreement with the narrative away from having a sudden FBI investigation launched against him. Or the media digging up an old girlfriend who claimed he wasn't nice to her.

Perhaps the stroke caused Fetterman to be smarter. Or, if we were to be more cynical, Fetterman sees the MASSIVE amount of PA Democrats switching their registration to "unaffiliated" or REPUBLICAN and is trying to get ahead of it.
