Hack journalist calls on other hack journalists "to better convey" why people should vote for Biden, since Dems stink at it
In October, hack journalismer John Harwood did everything he could to pull an intelligible interview out of Joe Biden. Leading questions. Easy layups. Cheap shot at Elon Musk. It was a stunning example of why the "however much you hate journalists, it's not enough" meme was created. The next time there is a poll labeling journalism the least trusted institution in America, Harwood will break the fourth wall and say, "Who, me?"
As it turns out, the interview was a blueprint for how Harwood expects his other hack journalismer colleagues to act. They aren't doing a good enough job campaigning for Joe Biden. And someone has to, since Biden himself stinks at it.
"Biden at 80 is handling the job effectively right now."
Funny. Because Politico attempted to make the case today. These bars in the middle of a puff piece on how Biden can "turn it all around" were an accidental admission.
The oldest president in history when he first took the oath, Biden will not be able to govern and campaign in the manner of previous incumbents. He simply does not have the capacity to do it, and his staff doesn’t trust him to even try, as they make clear by blocking him from the press.
"The US economy is doing well, not poorly."
Have fun with that one, Skippy. No statistic, chart, or nerdy economist thing is going to convince people the economy is good when their bank account, credit card bills, and grocery shopping tell them the exact opposite. Only 14% of Americans say they are better off than they were under the previous president.
When the media attempts to do what Harwood asks of them, even with demographics that are supposed to be favorable for Democrats, this happens:
Though in fairness to Harwood, his criticism about Biden needing people around him who aren't political nincompoops is not without some merit. A smart person wouldn't be cutting ads for the Republican candidate.
This is the point elitists like Harwood and others like Joy Behar don't get. It's easy to rely on statistics to justify your candidate when you have so much money you don't feel any pain yourself. Clueless Behar can claim Americans are having an easy time "putting bread on the table" because she doesn't know where anything from her panty came from or how it got there.
The only data that matters to voters is what I call the "everyone I know" metric. Assign a number to yourself based on your job status and how expensive you find everything (food, gas, utilities, etc.). Plus one for everyone you know who is doing okay. Minus one for everyone you know who is not. That's the only number that matters to people when they vote, and it is how they judge the people they vote for.
For elitists like John Harwood who work in the media, everyone they know is doing fine. They also didn't struggle to make ends meet during the pandemic either.
For Normie-Americans, that is not the case. Hence people like John Harwood not understanding why so many Americans don't slurp Biden as much as he and his peers do, and thinking it's all about bad messaging.
