Lefties can't seem to go more than an hour or two without bringing up identity politics. They insist everyone in the U-S-of-A who isn't a card-carrying leftist is a racist ninnymuggins. Case in point: Joy Reid is certain a Michelle/Oprah presidential ticket would fail due to racism.

On her MSNBC show this morning, Joy Reid invited her guests to make their picks among the multitudinous Dem contenders. Said Tiffany Cross, co-founder of The Beat DC: "My number one ticket who can beat Donald Trump by a landslide: Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey."

Reid and the other panelists literally laughed off Cross's suggestion, with Reid pointing out that they've said they wouldn't run. More importantly, and reacting to polling data Cross cited showing Oprah and Michelle defeating Trump by wide margins, Reid added: "We know racially-polarized voting is a real thing and people will say they'll vote for Oprah until she is on the ballot."

Uh, was Joy in a coma from 2008-2017? I seem to recall our previous commander-in-chief having an abundant supply of melanin. He also won the popular vote and the Electoral College twice, and not along racial lines. Narrative busted.

People won't vote Michelle/Oprah because of their inevitable policies, not because of racism. We can't even trust Michelle Obama to pick our lunch for us, let alone oversee domestic and foreign policy. Besides, she and Barry Big Ears are far too busy being Netflix stars to worry about another campaign.

Funnily enough, to the left, the content of your character counts for zilch if you're not the right hue. Which is the textbook definition of racism, by the way. If we aren't grooving to Obama/Winfrey '20, it has nothing to do with their African American-ness and everything to do with their politics. It's as simple as that.
