Sometimes it's nice to take a break from all the tragedy and gun quibbling to bask in a win. Today's win being a green light for the border wall, courtesy of a federal judge. Expect to see a happy Trump tweet soon.

Let the barrier building commence!

A federal judge Donald Trump once denigrated for his “Mexican” heritage handed a big legal victory to the president on Tuesday by green-lighting his border wall with Mexico.

US District Judge Gonzalo Curiel ruled in favor of the Trump Administration in lawsuits that challenged the environmental waivers for the wall granted by the Department of Homeland Security.

The Trump administration praised the legal victory and touted the effectiveness of border walls in stopping drugs and people from illegally crossing into the United States.

Apparently Trump is also heading out to look at wall prototypes in San Diego on Friday. I hope he picks something pretty. Maybe concrete with a mural of a giant bald eagle. Or perhaps the timeless classic, brick.

The left has tried everything under the sun to crush the wall (see MSNBC Gets Desperate, Says Border Wall will Harm Animals). Now their open border dreams shall be crushed under the weight of quite a few miles of concrete. Sorry, dreamers.

The general consensus is that walls work (see Video: MSNBC Tries to Bash Trump's Wall. Accidentally Makes a Case for it Instead...). We've wasted enough time trying border security the liberal way. Open borders, or even half shoddily-fenced borders, is a terrible idea.

Here's hoping we see a lot more of the wall in 2018.
