CNN may have another scandal on their hands. Chris Cuomo got fired due to his close relationship with someone CNN reported news on. Now we find out another CNN employee, Don Lemon, was text messaging Jussie Smollett. Yes, the same Jussie that CNN reported was a victim of a hate crime perpetrated by Trump supporters. The same Jussie that is currently on trial for lying about that hate crime.

Jussie testified on his own behalf Monday. Smollett was annoyed that the security camera was pointed in the wrong direction to pick up the attack. When asked why he refused to hand his phone over to the police, Jussie said he "declined to give his phone to CPD in part because earlier he’d gotten a text from Don Lemon ‘saying he’d gotten a text from CPD saying they don’t believe me.'"

Lemon, while the story was ongoing in 2019, admitted to having a casual friendship with the actor AND that he texted him. The rub is he said he texted Jussie just to see how he was holding up. "My media sources tell me the police don't believe you" when you work for a network reporting on a hate crime that may not have been a hate crime is something entirely different. Even though Lemon's colleagues in the corporate media think he was just doing good journalism.

CNN, while the blue checkmark brigade was promoting Jussie's hoax for him, was reporting on the hoax as a news story. While CNN was reporting on the hoax as a news story, Don Lemon was texting the subject of the story, telling him the police didn't believe him about the hoax. If CNN had journalistic integrity, this would go against it.
