Intentional or Not, Kanye West Just Exposed the Hateful, Leftist Thought-Police
Before we get started, let's issue the standard disclaimers and key points about the Kanye Turns off the Twitter Lights:
- Multiple things can be true at once. That's first and foremost, a principle to apply to practically everything when it comes to cultural shifts.
- You don't have to like Kanye, rap, Trump, Kim Kardashian, or dragon energy to appreciate what Kanye has done this week. But who doesn't love dragon energy? If Kanye releases a new fragrance "Dragon Energy" I don't know how we don't all buy that crap in bulk.
- There's a good chance all of Kanye's recent tweets about Trump, ideas (some conservative and some not) are hype for the release of his new album or other merchandise. Regardless, said tweeting has exposed what we've always known the left to be: a fascist thought-police. But this time, because Kanye is a relevant figure of the culture, he's exposing the thought-police to a much wider audience.
- This Kanye thing has been both entertainingAF and also a teachable moment about the left. Which is exactly what I'd like to talk about.
Earlier this week, Kanye West set Twitter alight with his recent return to the platform. I shan't regale you with all the tweets Kanye has sent into the universe, but here's a taste of the avalanche.
"Dragon energy." A fragrance the name of Kanye's next son?

Leftists weren't going to let one of their figureheads go so far off the reservation:
He's not wrong.
All this stirred the left into spirals of crazy. Late night hosts like Colbert, quickly pounced on Kanye telling him to shut up about Trump.
Kim Kardashian, Kanye's other half, rushed to Kanye's defense essentially saying people are allowed to have free thoughts outside of the mainstream.
Kim Kardashian, Kim Kardashian had to lecture the masses about free thinking. Think about that for a second.

What does it say about the state of our culture that Kim Kardashian makes more sense than nearly every political leader on the left? And some on the right?
Kanye and Kim schooling the media on freedom of thought. And you thought 2018 was going to be boring.
Again, like them or not, Kanye and Kim are influential on the culture. And politics is downstream from culture. Even if Kanye is doing all this for publicity, the results are the same. The left is in a free fall, bleeding out of their eyes and wherever over Kanye leaving the "thought plantation." How dare a person of color not fall in line with the Democrats.
Which likely prompted this:
Black people don’t have to be democrats.— Chance The Rapper (@Chance The Rapper) 1524692984.0
Still think this isn't a cultural moment?
When Shania Twain apologized simply for saying -- impromptu -- that she may have voted for Trump, it legitimized the premise that merely voting for Trump is an apology-worthy offense. But it isn't. There's no need to apologize for whom you voted, hypothetical or otherwise. But to the left, breaking their ranks is tantamount to treason. For which they will figuratively have you hanged.
Here we have Kanye, who not only isn't apologizing, he's digging his heels in. Exposing how hateful the left is toward anyone who opposes them, strays from their dogma, refuses to fall in line. Either accidentally or intentionally. The results are the same.
Let's be clear, coming out as anything other than a far left progressive is career suicide in Hollywood. Getting breast implants while still sporting a dangle is consider "brave," earning you a lavish cover spread in Vanity Fair.
But real bravery in 2018 is actually thinking for yourself.
When conservatives don't apologize to the left, when they don't feed the monster its blood sacrifice, it tips the left’s hand. Holding strong to your views exposes the left as pure vitriolic hatred. It's who they have always been. But few have been able to see it.
People are starting to see it now.
Remember, the left didn't call for Louis Farrakhan to apologize for his hatred toward Jews. The thought-police didn't ask for Bill Clinton to apologize for his sexual rapescapades. Democrats ran Hillary Clinton as a candidate for office, even though she has a history of covering up for the rapes of her husband. But none of the aforementioned figures ever strayed from Democratic dogma. They were permitted to carry on with the blessing of the leftist thought-police for being loyal to the cause.
Kanye West, like him or not, for publicity or not, by digging in, by not backing down despite calls from his own friends to toe the line, is showing the world, even his wife Kim Kardashian, that the thought-police is real. They're venomous. They'll try discrediting you, disowning you, or even labeling you a nutcase if you dare step a free-thinking toe out of line.
Are we seeing a cultural shift? We very well may be. Dragon energy just got real.
