American Idol alum blasts woke voters for LA crime, then complains about her Rolex and misses the point
Woke voters have so caused Los Angeles to turn into a crime-invested hellhole, they've activated Katharine McPhee. She is an American Idol alumnus turned actress, though I couldn't tell you anything she's sung or acted in. She posted an Instagram story echoing a sentiment we do here on LwC all the time: Blame the voters.
She shared an article about an elderly man getting assaulted and said, "I blame every single one of you woke voters. Seniors getting beat up while walking. Keep voting for this. What a sad state this city is in."
She then threw an endorsement for Rick Caruso, who I guess is the moderate running for LA Mayor against Karen Bass, a congresswoman who has the endorsement of the pro-crime status quo like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Honestly, until RedState's Jen Van Laar tells me she found the conservative who's going to save California, y'all can fight amongst yourselves.
But McPhee is right. Woke (or progressive) voters elected progressive politicians who campaigned on progressive policies that favor criminals at the expense of people who don't break the law. That is why we see stores getting ransacked in broad daylight, Olympians being assaulted on the streets, cops killed by someone who should have been in prison, and a retail worker murdered by someone out on bail.
Kudos to McPhee for speaking out. But then came the next slide of her Instagram stories, and she should have quit while she was ahead. Apparently, McPhee has to text her friends before they go out not to wear their rings and watches, but especially "Don't wear your Rolex."
M'kay. So, McPhee is right about the voters. Voters need to wake up. However, if I can make a slight criticism on messaging, you lose your point when you make it about not being able to wear your Rolex. Make it about the people who can't afford Rolexes and also can't afford to have a repeat offender run down them and their baby with his car.
But Kathrine McPhee tried. She gets points for that.
