Kim Davis of Kentucky Refuses to issue Same-Sex Marriage Licenses. 'Tolerant' Liberals Attack
Just as the Supreme Court's ruling on abortion in Roe v Wade in 1973 didn't stop the abortion debate, so too the court's ruling on gay marriage didn't put a halt to that fight. So no one should be surprised that just a few people might have a problem with the Supreme Court getting involved in marriage and its redefinition. According to the left, "marriage" (as it used to be) was patriarchal and exclusionary, as it only allowed for one man and one woman to enter into a union. Such "hate" needed to be dismantled and rebuilt in the eyes of the "tolerant" left. Confused by the quotations? That's a hate-thought.
Well Kim Davis of Kentucky decided that her first amendment right (the one to freedom of religion) trumped this newly issued Supreme Court definition of marriage. Now some activists are mad. To be fair, some of these gay activists are always mad, so that's not really news. But some gay activists go around looking for a fight, looking to take down Christians in their alleged cause of #LoveIsLove. Because they love people. THEY LOVE PEOPLE.
Davis was elected last November as a Democrat, succeeding her mother in the office she had held for 37 years, according to the Morehead News. Her staff includes her son.
Davis stopped issuing all marriage licenses after the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage across the nation in June. Two gay couples and two straight couples sued, arguing that she must fulfill her duties as an elected official despite her personal religious faith. Other couples also sued. A federal judge ordered her to issue the licenses, and an appeals court upheld that decision.
Okay, so Kim Davis is a Democrat. You won't read that too many places. Here at LwC, we keep you informed. You're welcome. She also stopped issuing all marriage licenses since the Supreme Court ruling in June. So it seems that she just wanted to avoid an overly hairy legal situation, as opposed to overly hairy couples. You probably won't read that too many places either. Kim Davis was sued by gay and straight couples. Got that? She just stopped issuing marriage licenses since the court redefined what marriage was. So she's been equal in her treatment of gay and straight couples. Okay? Okay.
So the swords used to cut down Christian bakeries and photography studios are now out for this Christian woman in Kentucky. It's Kim Davis vs. The Big Tolerant Gay Left. The ACLU is getting on board as well, because individual rights to practice your religion mean squat to two dudes who want demand a marriage license from her. Could these couples have gone to another county, you ask? You hateful, ignorant bastard and/or bitch. Kim Davis must be forced to reject her conscience, to reject her religious beliefs and serve these two rear admirals a marriage license. Hey, this is AMERICA, and your constitutional rights stop, where my legally sanctioned sack-romp begins.
Kim Davis had this to say:
"To issue a marriage license which conflicts with God's definition of marriage, with my name affixed to the certificate, would violate my conscience. It is not a light issue for me. It is a Heaven or Hell decision," her statement said. "I was elected by the people to serve as the County Clerk. I intend to continue to serve the people of Rowan County, but I cannot violate my conscience."
Get it America? THIS is the real war. This is not about cakes, photos, or the issuing of a marriage license in Rowan County, Kentucky. This is about taking down Christianity, which believes in moral right and wrongs, natural laws, and heaven and hell. Remember, the left doesn't bat an eyelash if a Muslim bakery denies gay couples a cake. This is not about taking down religion, but Christians. With those pesky Christians out of the way, the left will be free to do what they want. If there is no God, there are no unalienable rights (as given to us by God). Clever leftists.
Kim Davis is symbolic. She is anyone who refuses to have their mind "set right" by the tolerant left. And if the left succeeds in taking away her right to practice her religion, they'll take away yours too.
Because, tolerance.
