KJP refuses to denounce Hamas supporters ripping down hostage posters, won't comment on "that particular thing"
Hamas supporting American progressives have been ripping down posters of missing Jewish hostages for a few weeks now. A reporter finally got around to asking White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre if the president had a position on the matter. Possibly even denouncing the hateful acts of the Hamas supporting American progressives.
Here now is the official response from the White House:
Wait, wrong tweet.
I meant to share this exchange between Biden's least competent diversity hire and NBC journalismer Peter Alexander. KJP -- you guessed it -- gave a nonanswer and lumped the antisemitism in with all the other "hate" that the Biden Administration has been closely monitoring.
"I’m just not going to go into specifics on that particular thing ... I can speak to the frequency of threats that we’re seeing to the Jewish community, to the Arab-American community, to the Muslim community in the United States since October 7..."
It's astounding to me how KJP continues to whiff over what should be easy answers. Almost as astounding as that if the White House had settled on either having the first Black press secretary OR the first Gay press secretary, they might have found someone who could competently do the job.
Here's what I would have said if I was Joe Biden's spokesperson standing in front of the official seal of The White House to make sure the White House position was clear. First, I would point out that as a result of the Hamas terrorist attacks, communities and families are grieving. And how for the past month, the families of those who have been taken hostage have lived in agony. Then I would make it clear. Progressive Hamas supporters tearing down pictures of those families and loved ones - who are being held hostage by Hamas - is both wrong and hurtful. And that on behalf of the President of the United States, we denounce the members of our party who are either doing so or encouraging others to do so.
Take away the denouncement, KJP got around to saying that on X after enough criticism.
I look forward to hearing KJP's response to the bipartisan congressional censure of Congressional Democrat Hamas Caucus chairwoman Rashida Tlaib. That will be coming later on Wednesday.
