Watch: LA Times owner realizes endorsing Karen Bass for mayor was a mistake because, quote, "Competence matters"
The Los Angeles Times, which endorsed Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, now regrets that decision, as the beloved city has become engulfed in flames.
NEW: LA Times owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong says it was a mistake for his paper to endorse Karen Bass, says competent people should be elected, not professional politicians.
While I'm glad people are waking up, this is not some profound concept.

Let's break it down: they endorsed her not because they thought she was competent but because she was a good politician. You cannot make that level of nonsense up.
So, while it’s better late than never, this sheds light on the true insanity of progressive politics, as he has admitted they don’t vote based on who will better represent the people.
We are at the point that some people couldn't care less if they vote against their best interest, so long as they pick the politically correct candidate. However, that decision cost many, many people their homes.
The most interesting part is that her opponent, Rick Caruso, was able to save one of the few commercial structures in the middle of the Palisades because he hired a private firefighting service.

This means that he knew the risk and did something about that, unlike Karen, who decided to take a trip to Africa. So while residents refused to elect someone who was the least bit competent, they went with a DEI pick of a mayor. And unfortunately, things did not go well.
Regardless of who residents voted for, the entire situation is extremely sad, and no one should have lost their home, business, life, or pet.
That being said, we can almost be certain that wildfire risk will be one of the top issues at the ballot box in the next election for Los Angeles.
