WOO! After Fan Pushback, 'Last Man Standing' May Not Stay 'Canceled' For Long...
Fans of Last Man Standing were dumbfounded when the hit show was cancelled, including Tim Allen himself. After the confusion over ABC's crap decision cleared, supporters of the show got to work, starting a petition to spare the show from the guillotine. Well, good news for you Mike Baxter fans out there. Your efforts may have paid off. Word on the street is the show is looking for a new place to call home.
Studio 20th Century Fox Television is looking for a new home for canceled Tim Allen comedy “Last Man Standing.”Speaking to Variety Thursday, studio presidents Jonnie Davis and Howard Kurtzman said that they were surprised by ABC’s decision to pull the plug on the show.
“We really were expecting a pickup. The fact that we didn’t get a pickup was a surprise and a disappointment. I think no one was more disappointed than Tim Allen, such a huge star with such a huge following.”
“We’re starting to explore that. If it’s not going to go forward at ABC, of course Jonnie and I are hopeful that we can find another home for it.”
It's still a mystery as to why the show was cancelled, especially with the terrific jokes on the show (see ‘Last Man Standing’ Brutally Mocks College Liberals and ‘Last Man Standing’ Keeps Coming. Takes Firm Jab at Obama). But, one thing's for sure. Politics had nothing to do with it. Nope. Nuh uh. No chance.
This is the beauty of the market at work, mi compadres. In a market system, if enough people want a show where a conservative wiseass lampoons the bejeezus out of leftists, they get it. One way or another. This is opposed to the progressive system of entertainment where and socialism, feminism, and the gayness is forcefully shoved down your gullet. Anything that strays from their format? KILL IT WITH FIRE!
The big question is, will the show land on another network? It happened when ABC suddenly cancelled Nashville, which landed on CMT. A network that already shows Last Man Standing in syndication. Sounds like a good fit.
If you can get enough people to raise their voices, it's very hard for the powers at be to ignore you. The possibility of LMS being saved is proof you can get the things you want, despite leftists' best efforts to shut them down. Gold stars all around, guys. Keep it up...
