Latest Howard Stern Comments Shock and Offend... By Supporting Israel?
Howard Stern has made a career trying to shock people. He pretty much introduced the world to bizarre lesbians, would occasionally have fun with homeless people on his show, and up until the early 90s-ish was FCC public enemy #1. You know, all the reasons people've become fans.
But his most shocking and unpopular comment? Apparently it's his defense of Israel.
We've discussed his support of Israel before (read the full piece where he called anti-Israel zealots "anti-American" here). These comments are in response to Roger Waters - who is raging a one man jihad against any artist performing in Israel - calling Stern an asshole for supporting Israel.
"Defending Israel isn't fashionable, I know. It is a tremendous distraction for Arab leaders to say, 'Let's get the Jews, let's get Israel, it's all their fault.' As long as their poor people are focused on Israel they don't wake up and realize who is stealing their money. Their lives aren't getting any better from all this crap, so don't be fooled by Roger and his statements. It's not the Israeli people, not Jews, not Judaism. I would never dream of attacking them. In fact, a lot of the Israelis are the people who are fighting the hardest because they believe it is the most effective tool for changing policies of their own government."
Other celebrities agree with Howard...

Side note, how cool is it to see Blossom sharing links from The Blaze articles? I'm pretty sure she wasn't aware and will walk it back once she receives backlash, but still pretty cool.
This is apparently the world we live in now. Instead of the 7 words you can't say on television, now there's a new list that numbers around 198349589888787 of things you can't say at all. But at the absolute top of that list, is "anything nice about Israel."
"No more speaking nicely of the Jews!"
We've written about this before (read more about Israel vs. the rest of the Arab world here), but this is always an opportunity to point out one of the great ironies of the left. There is one place in all of the middle east, one bastion of equal rights, one place where women are treated as first-class citizens, one place where women can dress as they please and speak as they please, one place where all people regardless of religion have equal protection under the law, one place where homosexuals aren't hung from the gallows or thrown off of rooftops.
One place.
That place is Israel. So even if you really, really, really don't like Israel or the Jews, or maybe you think they're occupying somebody else's country (which was never really a country before Israel existed in the first place), you'd think the left could at least acknowledge the positive outcome for human rights and equality in the Middle East.
Instead, leftists like Roger Waters rage at Howard Stern and want all artists to boycott Israel. Okay, then where can artists perform in that portion of the world? Saudi Arabia? Iraq? Iran? Pakistan? Dubai? All places where gross violations of basic human rights occur on a regular basis. They're more worthy of your presence than Israel?
That's what Howard Stern is pointing out here. Kind of funny that for a guy who's had midgets and pornstars fight on his program, his most "offensive" bit yet, is speaking this simple truth. For a quick, recap of Israel and why leftists hate it, watch the short video below. You're welcome.
