I don't have to tell you how lefties are out to get the Donald any which way they can. The only important thing is landing a blow. Whether it's attacking his family or casting him as a Nazi Klansman who kicks puppies for a pastime.

The left was sure they'd deliver a haymaker with this picture. Boy, were they wrong:

Yesterday, a group of outraged progressives began tweeting around a photo of two children at a border patrol holding facility sleeping behind a chain link fence. Former Obama speechwriter and current podcast resistance leader Jon Favreau wrote in a since-deleted tweet, “Look at these pictures. This is happening right now, and the only debate that matters is how we force our government to get these kids back to their families as fast as humanly possible.”

Lots of other progressives shared the same image/link including Women’s March co-founder Linda Sarsour.

Looking at the picture, I can understand the outrage. No matter their immigration status, putting tots in a cage is a major no bueno. For the lefties though, there's just one teensy problem:

The picture and the story are real, but unfortunately for these outraged progressives they are both from 2014, i.e. this happened under the Obama administration.

Oops.

So close! These lefties thought they had Trump buried with this picture. Alas, these injustices were dealt under one Barry "Bike Helmet" Obama. Patron saint of leftist douchebaggery. God-king among progressives. Cue mass backtracking.

The erasing of the tweets speaks volumes. The lefties could have been morally consistent and maintained their outrage over kiddos being housed like dogs in the pound. Instead, after realizing the actual perpetrator has a "D" after his name, they're willing to let this one slide. So much for the party of "principles."
