The media is all abuzz with talking heads addressing the shooting in Buffalo that took place this past weekend. But no one seems to be talking about the shooting that took place last week in Dallas. (Let’s not forget how quickly the media pivoted away from covering the New York City subway terrorist). Can anyone guess why?

Now, let’s be clear, racism demonstrated by any person is ugly. Racism toward any person is disgusting. And acts of violence—performed on the basis of racial animus or not—are abhorrent. But what’s also gross is the leftist media’s unequal and biased coverage of these kinds of events. It’s the inability of those who are supposed to be our government leaders to call things out for what they are and not impose their narrative for purposes of scoring a few political points.

Furthermore, the incidental lack of concern for communities affected by hate in numerous ways is beyond appalling. Whether it’s anti-Asian hate on the streets of New York City, some dirtbag shooting up an Asian-owned salon, or the purportedly progressive and inclusive halfwits who staff university admissions offices who discriminate against Asian applicants—failure to identify these things for what they are is a tacit acceptance of the conduct.

That doesn’t mean anyone is endorsing it—although there are plenty who have endorsed various discrimination schemes where universities are concerned—but it does mean they’ve chosen not to address it to change it, thus accepting it as it is.

We don’t accept it. We want it to change.

That goes for every American. Everyone deserves the right to be safe, but sometimes we have to create that safety for ourselves.
