What the hell is wrong with the students at UW-Madison (see University Madison Students Want Religious Freedom for Muslims… But Not Christians! and University of Wisconsin-Madison Giving Free Tampons… to Men?!)? Now we have college students 'beheading' cops wearing a pig mask, just to promote their clothing line.

Marc Lovicott, spokesman for the UW-Madison Police Department, said the department was aware of the video.

"We do not agree with the message, but we appreciate and respect people's opinions and their right to free speech," Lovicott said.

UW-Madison released the following statement:

“UW-Madison strives to provide a welcoming and inclusive campus environment, while allowing everyone to share ideas and political views in exercise of their free speech rights.

"However, the university strongly condemns the glorification of violence such as that contained in the promotion of a student-produced clothing line."

So, the university is erring on the side of free speech?

It's always pleasant to see a university upholding a constitutional right. That kind of thing is becoming rarer by the day. But, methinks they'd be crooning a different tune if the speech in question wasn't leftist claptrap.

When a leftist has something controversial to say, the universities are free speech purists. But, if Ben Shapiro pops on a crisp yarmulke and comes to town to suggest lower taxes and more personal freedoms? "Keep your hate speech off of this campus!" Contrary opinions could "traumatize" the students. We wouldn't want that now, would we?

Do the students have a first amendment right to do things like this? Most definitely, and we wouldn't change a thing about that. They have the first amendment right to behead the likeness of a cop. Likewise, we have the first amendment right to call them a bunch of class-A douchenozzles for doing so. Yay America!

But you'd be naive to think these students would still be enrolled in the college if they beheaded a faux gay tranny African American person of color. That would be hateful. But, since the beheaded in question is an evil po-po pig who kills unarmed black men, lopping his head off is a constitutionally-protected form of protest.

Leftists' hypocrisy is on full display here. Nine times out of ten, they view the constitution as two hundred years out-of-date and in need of heavy editing. But, when it's to their benefit, lefties are Bill of Rights superfans. One thing's for sure. Let it never be said leftists are consistent.
