This combines two of my favorite things in politics. One is that, like him or hate him, Donald Trump has done more to reach out to nontraditional GOP voters than he gets credit for (see TRUMP DROPPED AN AD APPEALING TO #WALKAWAY DEMOCRATS THAT IS BRILLIANT and BLACK TRUMP SUPPORTERS GO VIRAL FOR AWESOME PRO-AMERICA MESSAGE). The other is people on our side using art to promote our messages, as opposed to just snarking about owning the libs on Twitter. This song is the latest by Tyson James.

Just like with MAGA Steppin', the song works because James knows it's music first, MAGA second. Pretend you have no idea who Donald Trump is and don't know what MAGA stands for. It's still a dope song. The song works on its own, politics aside. Then when listeners — hopefully apolitical — start to listen to the messages, that's how you pull them over to the right. This isn't just another corny country song or a bunch of glorified tweets sung out loud. This is hip-hop. This is solid hip-hop. The fact that it's pro-Trump is secondary.

If we're going to continue to reach out to more people who won't normally give our message a hearing, we need more art like this.
