A black man stabbed two teenage tourists in New York City on Christmas morning, after ranting that he wanted all white people dead.

The two South American teens, aged 14 and 16, were having breakfast with their parents at Tartinery in Grand Central Station. They were both stabbed but, according to authorities, did not receive life-threatening wounds.

The man, Steven Hutcherson, wanted a table but told staffers he wasn't going to eat anything. You may be shocked to know that Hutcherson has a slew of prior arrests, yet was not in jail. Like we said in the lede, this is in New York City.

From the New York Post:

“I want all the white people dead,” the suspect, Steven Hutcherson, 36, allegedly yelled, according to police sources. “I want to sit next to the crackers.”

He then allegedly lunged at the unsuspecting teens, plunging a knife into the 16-year-old’s back, nicking her lungs, and stabbing the younger girl in the thigh, police and a law enforcement source said.

The two girls were taken to a nearby hospital and were released that day.

Hutchinson, according to the MTA, was booked on felony counts: attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon -- all as hate crimes -- and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

Those are just his new charges. WABC-7 reports Hutcherson was arrested twice in the past six months, both for weapon possession. The harshest penalty he received was 15 days in jail.

Crime has become par for the course in New York City. This quote from a Connecticut resident who was an eyewitness tells you all you need to know.

"It doesn't faze me because, I guess, it's New York. This kind of thing happens, you know? It's unfortunate."

While not clear from anything I have read today, easy money us in Hutchinson being released of his own reconnaissance. Possibly with conditions. They may have made him promise not to stab anyone else until his next court date.
