The March for Science organizers have a problem will Bill Nye the Science guy. No, it isn't that Nye isn't actually a science guy. We're talking about leftists here, so toss logic out with the butchered baby. The rub is that Nye is a cis-white male. Seriously, this is causing drama...

“I love Bill Nye,” said Stephani Page, a biophysicist at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, who created the Twitter hashtag #BlackAndSTEM. Page was asked to join the march’s board in February after she tweeted criticism of its approach to diversity. “But I do feel comfortable saying to you what I said to the steering committee: He is a white male, and in that way he does represent the status quo of science, of what it is to be a scientist.”

Adding Hanna-Attisha and Villa-Komaroff, she said, “was an opportunity to put up a picture of science that did not just fit the white male image.”

These intense arguments about diversity in the march reflect a much broader debate about science itself. The institution that prides itself on its objectivity has always been plagued by questions over who participates in it, who it serves, and who it leaves behind.

Actually, no. These arguments reflect that leftists don't actually care about science. They care about using the word "science" as an excuse to silence anyone who disagrees with them about anything ever. And even then, only when it's convenient. So as shocking as this sounds, the March for Science is less about "science" as much as it is about leftists and SJWs having another hissy fit.

Secondly, ahow does Bill Nye being white have anything to do with his position in the science community? The unapologetic racism among the left is near baffling. There's a quick test to see whether or not something said is "racist." Simply replace "cis-white male" with "cis-black male" or better yet "trans-black womanthing." If it's wrong to point out the gender racial identity of one person, it's wrong in all cases.

Thirdly, not to be a ball bearing buster here, but many of the groundbreaking scientists of old were white dudes: Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Galileo Galilei, Nicolaus Copernicus etc. So if we're going to purge science of the white men, we're in a real pickle.
