Marco Rubio throws down, explains Mahmoud Khalil "free speech" issue slow enough even your liberal friends will understand
If JD Vance is the best decision Donald Trump ever made, Marco Rubio is rapidly cementing himself as a number two. The former "Little Marco" has been crushing it as Secretary of State and drops mics from here to Ukraine whenever he is asked anything about anything by anyone. Exhibit Q is his response to Mahmoud Khalil having his green card yeeted.
Isn't this a free speech issue? Who does the Trump Admin think they are? The Biden Admin having pro-life grandmothers thrown in jail? Not quite, explains Rubio.
To recap, on October 7th, 2023, Israel was the victim of a heinous terrorist attack at the hands of Hamas. On October 8th, 2023, progressive students at progressive colleges in progressive cities throughout America started rallying that the Jews were asking for it (I'm paraphrasing). Jewish-American students were terrorized, attacked, and prevented from entering buildings. Columbia University in New York City (figures) was where it was among the worst, and Khalil was a ringleader. He was a student allowed here on a visa from Algeria.
Khalil will be headed home after a hearing and due process and all that. Here's Secretary Rubio explaining to a reporter that, no, this is not a free speech issue.

Whoops, wrong tweet. That's Senate Democrats declaring they are all in on Khalil. Not surprising, since outside of John Fetterman, they have been all in on the protests for the past year and a half.
Here's the Rubio clip I was talking about:

These bars are key:
If you tell us, when you apply [for your green card', "Hi, I’m trying to get into the United States on a student visa, I am a big supporter of Hamas, a murderous, barbaric group that kidnaps children, that rapes teenage girls, that takes hostages, that allows them to die in captivity, that returns more bodies than live hostages ... ‘I intend to come to your country as a student and rile up all kinds of anti-Jewish student, antisemitic activities, I intend to shut down your universities..."
If you told us all these things when you applied for a visa, we would deny your visa. “I hope we would. If you actually end up doing that, once you’re in this country on such a visa, we will revoke it.
Also, Khalil is still afforded his day in court, where he has NINETEEN LAWYERS defending him. It is unclear if they are working pro-bono or if progressive billionaires are picking up the tab via their donations to progressive non-profits and NGOs. The progressive journalisming content creators (NYT, WaPo, CNN, et al.) aren't clear about that.
I count a whopping 19 attorneys representing Mahmoud Khalil.
J6ers could've only dreamed of that volume of legal firepower.
Who is paying for this representation?

When people say, "This is what we voted for," Trump promising to do something about students being terrorized by Democrat Party-endorsed activists who were allowed in our country as guests is one of the things they voted for.
And as a side note, it's been a while since Florida Speaker of the House Rubio first showed up on our radar and a while since he and Trump beefed with each other during the 2016 Presidential race. It is easy to forget just how good he is at this, to the point that he was my pick for Trump to choose Vice-President. I'd say he's my pick for JD Vance to choose as his Vice President now.
