Watch: Margaret Brennan thought she had a GOP congressman cornered over DEI "evidence," but then he bought receipts
When we last left CBS Face the Nation's Margaret Brennan, she was embarrassed by Vice President JD Vance. I'm sure you remember the "I don't care, Margaret" incident. She thought it might be easier with someone like a congressman. The rub is that she chose Florida Congressman Brian Mast, who is really good at this. What he lacks in legs, he makes up for in owning libs. Yesterday's appearance on the Sunday shows was no exception.
The focus was on DEI. Trump is in his Executive Order era. He's busy signing EOs to undo all of Joe Biden's EOs, which undid all of Trump's EOs, which undid all of Barack Obama's EOs. The next Democrat president with start his terms undoing all of Trump's new EOs. This is the game we play now. Accept it for what it is.
Many of Trump's EOs have focused on pausing the money going out the door until his team is in place and can review who is getting what. Much of that money was spent on the people who control Joe Biden's woke political agenda, and lately, we use "DEI" as shorthand for the overarching problem. Brennan played the smug "what evidence do you derpity derp" card. The rest went a little something like this.
MAST: So, DEI. Know what I mean?
BRENNAN: Yeah, but what EVIDENCE do you have to make this claim...
MAST: Half a million dollars to expand atheism in Nepal. $50,000 to do, let's see, a transgender opera in Columbia. $47,000 dollars to do an LGBTQ trans comic book in Peru. $20,000 a pop to do drag shows in Ecuador...
BRENNAN: Well, yes. But what other evidence do you have... ackshually, let's change the argument instead.
Margaret Brennan, who recently got humiliated in her interview with VP Vance, gets humiliated again when she asks for examples of DEI waste in foreign aid the US gives.

All these items add up, and the reason for pausing any further expenditures until Team Trump can review the books is to get a sense of how much is being wasted and what we're funding that the people who control Joe Biden did their best to hide. See also USAID.

I'm not sure who is writing Margaret Brennan's scripts and questions for her, but she might want to get someone who consumes more information than just what is on the Bluesky timeline. It would help to be better prepared.
