When you think of Marine training, you think of ensuring that Marines are physically and mentally honed, lean mean killing machines. Marines have a job to do. Kill people and take stuff. Break what you don't take. Those are the simplified objectives of war. What you probably don't think about, and shouldn't have to think about, is having to take time away from important, life-saving training for 'unconscious bias' education, because women are going to be on the front lines now.

The Marine Corps is rolling out mandatory training for all Marines before the first future female rifleman hits boot camp, aiming to set conditions for a smooth transition and head off cultural resistance.

Mobile training teams will be dispatched to installations across the Corps throughout May and June to offer a two-day seminar to majors and lieutenant colonels, Col. Anne Weinberg, deputy director of the Marine Corps Force

Innovation Office, told reporters Thursday. Those officers will then train the Marines under them.

Topics include unconscious bias, which focuses on how people prejudge others based on factors such as race and gender, and principles of institutional change. The seminar will also walk officers through the elements of the Corps' plan for opening ground combat jobs to women and include vignettes featuring challenges units might encounter.

Rational people should be able to draw the line between political correctness and life or death situations. I'd certainly argue that war qualifies as the latter. Unfortunately, we're not dealing with rational people. We're dealing with feminists and leftists. These are the same people who want you to believe the gender is "non-binary" and that the inherent differences between the male and female sexes are largely a byproduct of societal circumstance. Basic biology eludes them.

Basics

The most bothersome aspect of this story is that modern, SJW leftism has even contaminated the Marines. I mean, you expect this from places like colleges, community organizing offices or your local slam-poetry open mic... but THE MARINES?! The entire United States military was once a great microcosm of an apolitical, performance-oriented work environment. It was precisely because of the absence of identity politics that the military was able to remain relatively effective in the modern day of HR infractions and Gloria Allred lawsuits.

But now we're going to force Marines to undergo gender sensitivity training? And how truthful will this "training" be? If the instructor is honest with his class-members, it'll have to go something like...

"Listen, women are slower, weaker, have poorer reaction time and are much more likely to panic in a crisis. Truth is, you will be less safe with them making up your squad in combat situations. But, rules are rules and you have to treat them like anyone else in your squad. Oh, except they don't have to meet the same PT requirements. Also, they require more break-time for feminine hygiene. Also, you can't make any of the jokes that you usually make when women aren't around, because they could be offended and we don't need the ACLU on our ass. Also, I hate my life."

But that won't happen. You know why? Because political correctness ruins everything it touches, and as a result, members of our military and citizens of our country will be less safe.
