In The Purist Of Equity, A Massive Hospital Network Will Stop Reporting Babies Who Are Born Addicted To Drugs
Equity is bad enough on its own. But the most dangerous form of this is health equity, where a deranged and illogical ideology is pushed through at the expense of human life all because someone, somewhere made up a fake representation of what utopia should be.
We all know that the left hates children. So much so that they would rather their life end than be born. And when you combine that belief with health equity, you get this abhorrent story.
Mass General Brigham, Massachusetts's largest hospital network, has revised its policy on mandatory reporting of babies who are born drug-dependent/addicted.
The reason Massachusetts's largest hospital network is doing this is because studies show that black babies are more likely to be born addicted to drugs than white babies. This means that black people are more likely to abuse drugs while pregnant. Thus, black babies are more likely to be reported for alleged neglect and abuse.
Subsequently, in the name of health equity, the reports of babies addicted to drugs must end so that the made-up representation some deranged person came up with will become the status quo.
Mandatory reporting of babies born dependent on a drug their birth parent was taking may be coming to an end in Massachusetts.
Mass General Brigham, the state’s largest hospital network, is joining Boston Medical Center in revising its policy. Now, instead of relying on an infant’s blood test results, hospital staff will only report a baby to state investigators if there’s concern about an imminent risk of abuse or neglect.
Is being addicted to crack when only five seconds old not an “imminent risk of abuse or neglect?” Because I beg to differ as the mom has already proved she is willing to abuse and neglect the child as long as she gets her fix.
This can’t be legal, can it? Doctors are supposed to save lives and revising the policy won’t decrease cases of neglect or abuse, it will only increase it.
Mass General Brigham leaders said the change is allowed under state law. The state’s mandatory reporting requirement says the Department of Children and Families must be notified if a child is injured by, among other things, dependence on an addictive drug at birth. Current interpretation of the law has led most hospitals to file child welfare reports for newborns dependent on drugs such as opioids.
You would think they would be more concerned with the black baby and not some made-up fantasy world these people want to socially engineer us into.
The reporting requirement has come under increasing scrutiny during the drug overdose crisis, in part because women report stopping medications like buprenorphine or methadone, which are used to treat addictions, during pregnancy. They say they fear traces of those medications in their newborns could cause them to lose custody of their babies.
“The goal here is balancing the safety of infants and families,” said Dr. Sarah Wakeman, senior medical director for substance use disorder at Mass General Brigham. “A positive toxicology test does not tell you anything about someone’s ability to parent. Actually, a positive buprenorphine test tells you this person is engaged in treatment.”
Are we supposed to read that and think it makes even the slightest amount of sense? Do these people truly think the public is that incredibly dumb that we are to believe that babies are addicted to drugs because the mother believes heroin is safer than methadone and that this has no correlation with whether the child may or may not be abused?
That reasoning is so asinine and infuriating.
Skin color matters for practically nothing. And you would think that progressives could at least agree with that when it comes to child abuse and the lives of babies. But in their insane pursuit of mass equity, we must turn a blind eye to the fact that babies are addicted to drugs. I honestly can't believe this is real life. This is pure evil.
It is incomprehensible how we live in a time where empathy lies with drug addicts and not newborn babies.
