Matt Damon says ‘Merit’ is More Important than race. Left Explodes!
Card-carrying leftist Matt Damon has now been declared a racist because he disagreed with a black woman, by telling her that merit is more important than race. Matt Damon, kindly meet the SJW leftist monster you've helped create. It's about to devour you.
It doesn’t matter that Matt Damon said diversity was important. It doesn’t matter that he’s a leftist. None of it matters. Because race and political correctness. Take a look:

Here’s what Matt Damon said:
“When we’re talking about diversity, you do it in the casting of the film, not in the casting of the show.”
The problem with that statement, is that it makes sense and flies in the face of "diversity." Mostly that it makes sense. Sense and leftism don’t get along. It’s only about skin color. Here, watch what comes down next. NOTE: This video, while it contains Project Greenlight interview footage, is made by a third party. Its commentary DOES NOT reflect the views of Louder with Crowder.
What’s shocking here, is that Matt Damon is still making sense. Well sort of. He thinks it’s important we think about diversity. But he also says:
“I think the whole point of this thing is, you go for the best director. Period.”
Here’s what the leftists at Mediaite have to say:
“Damon’s response, that they needed to select the winner “based on merit,” is reflective of a Jupiter-sized blind spot that many white entertainers have about diversity. More broadly, it illustrates the fundamental misunderstanding that fuels so much white resentment, that diversity and merit are somehow incompatible…”
Let's leave Jupiter out of this. What should Matt Damon have done to avoid this controversy? Hired a person of "color" – not to be confused with "colored people" which is racist – and left it at that. He went off the rails by judging the cast and crew on merit, and not on toeing the affirmative action line.
Sorry Matt, these chickens are coming home to roost.
