Matt Damon has earned himself fame and fortune by playing super spy assassin Jason Bourne. In four movies now. Sure, he's taken on other famous roles as well, but the Bourne franchise, where (once again), he plays a super spy assassin, are his mega blockbusters. Those same movies where he uses lots of guns and stuff.

Which is why his comments on gun control are inane:

“You guys did it here in one fell swoop and I wish that could happen in my country, but it’s such a personal issue for people that we cannot talk about it sensibly. We just can’t."

Yep, have to break up the quotes and take one stupid statement at a time. Here's the thing, Mattykins, yes guns are a personal issue for people. Just like their freedom to say whatever the hell they want, worship whatever they want, and peaceably assemble. The right to own a firearm is also as personal as preventing unwarranted searches and seizures, the right to due process, and a speedy trial of one's peers. In other words, if I didn't make it plain enough for your pea-brain to understand, the right to own a gun is an American right. You snotmuffin.

“People get so emotional that even when you make a suggestion about not selling AK-47s to people on terror watch lists, that’s a non-starter. I don’t know what needs to happen.”

What needs to happen is the ceasing of emotional projection. If we were to go back and look at every single mass shooting, who would be the "emotional" reactionaries, Matt Matt? The people who are guaranteed their right to self-defense as laid out in the US Constitution (see above lecture), or the thoughtless, headless wonders screaming "GUN CONTROL!" every time a baddie shoots a bunch of people (read Of Course! ACLU Blames Orlando on... Conservative Christians?)? Who completely ignores facts, logic, or common sense when trying to curb or eliminate American's rights to firearms, hmmm? Oh that's right, unless it's handed to you in a script, answers elude you. Got it.

“Obviously mass shootings aren’t going to do it. There have been so many of them at this point. Sandy Hook, when those children were murdered, if that didn’t do it, you know, I just don’t know. Maybe we just need to evolve further before we can have that conversation, I don’t know.”

What we need is for people to pull their heads out of their rectums, wipe off the crap, then start using their brains as God intended. Learn your facts, Matt. I know, I know, sometimes learning is hard. Reading can be tricky if one isn't being paid millions to recite words in front of a camera. I get it. But it might do you well to crack open a history book and read about why the Second Amendment matters. Maybe then you wouldn't sound like a twit while talking about gun control in a country where, actually, people have more guns than ever. So not only have you, Matt, totally ignored why America has gun rights, you haven't even read up on this gun ban in Australia, and how it has "worked."
