Media Outraged KellyAnne Conway's Feet are on the Couch! About That...
President Trump met with the leaders of Historically Black College and Universities yesterday. Yes, I know that's odd what with Trump supposedly being racist, but stranger things have happened. It was a big meeting, and the point the press took away from it... someone's feet were on the couch.
Kellyanne Conway checks her phone after taking a photo of President Donald Trump and leaders of black universities,… https://t.co/TR2qknVgTT— AFP news agency (@AFP news agency) 1488245550.0
I see. So the media - remember, they aren't fake news - sees the President meeting with the heads of HBCU's. And instead of using the picture of Trump with the heads of HBCU's, they use the picture of KellyAnne Conway taking the picture, because...
There are two things wrong here.
One, it's silly to be selectively outraged. For this, for anything. Conservatives burning villages over Obama putting his feet on things was mocked by the same media complaining about KellyAnne Conway today. That same media seems upset with a woman's feet on the couch, but weren't with her feet under the desk of the oral Oval Office (folks, these are jokes).
(Quick side note, let's not confuse outrage with jokes. No one is outraged the President likes his steaks well done with ketchup. We're just making fun of him for it.)
The second thing... tell me again about how upsetting it is to be called fake news. The President the media claims is racist had a yuge meeting with black leaders, and the takeaway is if KellyAnne Conway should have taken her shoes off. Then they bemoan how the world calls them "fake news."
Self-awareness. It should be sold a Costco. By the pallet.
Now, Oval Office decorum. Let's maybe keep our feet on the ground. Everyone. But if someone is comfortable in the Oval, let's not lynch them for breaking decorum. Regardless of party line, yes?
There. That was easy.
