Liberal Comedian Blames All White Men for Las Vegas Shooting?
Leftists have broken out the finger paints to illustrate just how childish they can be following the Las Vegas shooting. Which, incidentally, left 59 people dead (see Top 5 Most Disgusting Leftist Reactions to Las Vegas Shooting… and Hillary Clinton Takes Aim at NRA, Silencers After Las Vegas Shooting). Most people who consider themselves "decent" have laid off pushing political agendas. Key word there is "decent."
"Comedy" writer Megan Amram leveraged the shooting as a chance to condemn all white men. Because the Las Vegas shooter was white. Get it?
Comedian Megan Amram responded to a TMZ story that Las Vegas massacre gunman Stephen Paddock doesn’t fit the typical mass shooter profile by tweeting, “White man? Sure does.”
White man? Sure does. https://t.co/lo2w9OOWqs— Megan Amram (@Megan Amram) 1506961261.0
TMZ published an article making a case that Paddock is unique for a mass shooter, as he is older (64), lived in a retirement community and didn’t have a known criminal record. The comedian's tweet to her 759,000 followers resulted in a series of responses mocking white males.
Now, statistically speaking, mass shooters do tend to be white males. Statistics are what they are. But terrorists tend to be Muslims, and look how we're not allowed to say that. Here, let some of Megan's followers make my point for me:
@meganamram Or terrorist apparently.... Black shooter: criminal Hispanic shooter: illegal criminal Muslim shooter:… https://t.co/VZDFFTgAyd— Kitty 🦄 🌊 (@Kitty 🦄 🌊) 1506961474.0
Sorry to break it to you, Kitty, but terrorism needs a political motivation. We're not making up the vocabulary rules here, just following them.
@meganamram What do you want to bet it comes out he has a history of violence against women. They all do.— Jill (@Jill) 1506961398.0
Really? Who else had a history of violence against women? If "they all do" then naming a couple shouldn't be too hard. But I get it, Jill wants to make it all about feminism.
@meganamram @AndyRichter Seriously what profile are they looking at? It's like they've never watched Criminal Minds.— Trudy B (@Trudy B) 1506976672.0
Oh, yes, I get all my facts from fictional television shows with toilet bowl acting. Bet Trudy thinks you can get a DNA panel in under an hour.
But we'd never say "Islamic man who beats his wife" right? Some intellectual dishonesty going on here.
@meganamram Of course he fits the profile. Where do they get this nonsense.?Disaffected white male with guns = danger beyond reason— Judy metcalf (@Judy metcalf) 1506995057.0
Except we don't know the motive yet. So we're not sure what actually happened.
That's true, the majority of mass shooters in the US are white men. But "white" is just our current word to describe caucasians. Also, no one choses their race. Rachel Dolezal excluded. "Muslim" is a religious and political ideology with a system of beliefs. Do try to keep up.
@meganamram You could stop at "man." I don't know why more people don't talk about this part.— rev. topher mehlhoff (@rev. topher mehlhoff) 1506996253.0
Oh good, a white-knighting male hoping for female attention.
A little more on the unfunny comedian:
Amram was a writer for the 2011 Academy Awards and has worked on popular shows including “Billy on the Street with Billy Eichner,” "Parks and Recreation” and “Silicon Valley," according to IMDB. She is also a contributing writer for The New Yorker and recently wrote a spoof of Jared Kushner’s Harvard admissions essay. The Boston Globe and Huffington Post have both profiled Amram’s Twitter account in the past, although it remains unverified.
Not that it needs saying again, but conflating "white men" with "Islamic terrorists" is not only dishonest, it's racist and sexist. Because again, Islam is a religious and political belief system. "White" and "man" is race and sex. Last we checked, racism and sexism were still frowned upon. But I guess the rules never apply to woke leftists who work for other woke leftists.
Gun control will be the main debate for the next few weeks. What's the difference between a "fully semi-automatic" gun and assault rifle? Trick question:
