Just when we thought we could leave COVID vaccine propaganda in the past, Megan Rapinoe is here to remind us that it will probably never go away. Ever. And this one's particularly awful because Rapinoe did it as a paid advocate for Schmfizer. Yay Big Pharma!

Rapinoe shot the selfie video on Instagram last Saturday. In it, she announced she was getting her "b-b-b-booster!" This was her fifth overall COVID shot. The caption reads, "Like so many others, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to focus on my health, and with the tournament down under coming up this year, it’s more important than ever that I do so. That’s why I got my updated COVID-19 booster."

In her defense, Rapinoe might soon be in need of some extra cash. She was left off the U.S. Women's National Team's roster for the upcoming SheBelieves cup. Coach Vlatko Andonovski said Rapinoe and other veteran players were left off to allow younger players to "prove themselves." Rapinoe is turning 38 this year, while her younger teammates occupy the low-twenties range.

Rapinoe has previously made headlines advocating (demanding?) for the women's soccer team to be paid as much as the men's. Regardless of lower ratings and Americans' general disinterest in women's sports. Because equality, or something. Despite her notoriety as a feminist icon, however, Rapinoe's opinion on transgender athletes is full-on anti-woman. Shocking, I know.

Her advice to parents concerned about their daughters competing against biological males? Suck it up. Because "your kid’s high school volleyball team just isn’t that important. It’s not more important than any one kid’s life." Oh, and can't forget that she kneels for the National Anthem. And reportedly bullies everyone else into kneeling, too.

Truly an inspiration. And definitely deserving of millions and millions more dollars. Plus some Big Pharma money on the side.
