Democrats Are Big Mad Because Speaker Of The House Mike Johnson (checks notes) Is Not Rich?!
Democrats will not admit it, but they are actually the party of the billionaires. Their policies hurt middle-class Americans more than they can even imagine.
One reason they create policies like this is because lawmakers are so out of touch with the average American, that they don’t care that gas is two dollars higher. That makes no difference to most members of Congress. However, to the average person in middle America, even 50 cents a gallon can make the difference on whether or not they have enough money to even make it to work.
Not everyone can be as rich as Nancy Pelosi. And the left does not understand that. So now they are freaking out because newly elected Speaker Mike Johnson is not rich enough to trigger the checking account disclosure rules for members of Congress.
Members of Congress are not required to report assets if the total of all accounts is less than $5,000.
The Daily Beast published a new report Wednesday revealing that Johnson has not reported a checking or savings account in his name — nor his wife or children during the short time he has so far served in Congress.
In other words, The Daily Beast is furious that Johnson isn’t rich, corrupt, or both. And on top of that, he also does not trade stocks as a member of Congress and does not seem to have any shady business dealings.
Well, at least not yet.
Look, I know that this is hard to take in for the left. But the truth of that matter is, not everyone can make millions off of sweetheart real estate deals.
But I guess the truth hurts, doesn't it?
Shouldn't it be a good thing that the man can actually relate to the struggles that most Americans are going through?
What we should really take from all of this is that according to the left, no evidence of corruption is evidence of corruption. Well, only for Republicans.
This story is actually a disappointing reality we all live in. It's sad that it is acceptable for politicians to get rich while in office, but there must be some sort of corruption the moment that someone in office is caught living paycheck to paycheck.
As it turns out, most Americans just can't relate to someone who has a $24,000 fridge filled with Jeni's premium ice cream as over 60 percent of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and about a third would not have the funds to cover an unexpected $400 expense.
But all that said, I still fail to see the issue with a speaker who has no accumulated wealth and no massive retirement plan other than the pension he will likely have.
If it is true that the reason the third most powerful person in the country has not reported a bank account is because he really is living paycheck to paycheck, then that is probably a good thing.
