Progressives have it in their itty bitty minds that the “homeless crisis” has nearly everything to do with a lack of housing. But anyone with even a fraction of a brain knows it has nearly nothing to do with a lack of housing. So it is no surprise that we have found a bunch of degenerates living underground in furnished caves filled with 7,600 pounds of garbage in California, where the highest number of “unhoused” individuals are.

Modesto Police found constructed and fully furnished riverside caves where a bunch of degenerates had been living for quite some time. Some of the items found inside included bedding, food, drugs, and weapons.

“This particular area has been plagued by vagrancy and illegal camps, which have raised concerns due to the fact that these camps were caves dug into the riverbanks,” the police department said in a statement.

Clean-up efforts resulted in two truckloads and a trailer filled up with trash.

Sober people that are just down on their luck don’t live like that. It does not take a genius to understand that people are choosing these conditions over housing because they would rather do drugs. Sober people don’t defecate on the street. Sober people don’t furnish caves 20 feet underground. And sober people don’t choose the riverbanks over shelter.

Some people lose their jobs and get down on their luck. But the problem has nothing to do with people in financial trouble. Anyone can go to social services and if you tell them you have no money and/or nowhere to sleep, they will help you. They won’t just tell people “tough luck”. We have more than enough resources to assist anyone that needs it. That is why it is infuriating that we use terms like “homeless” because these “unhoused” degenerates are either severely addicted to drugs, extremely mentally unstable, or both. So by Progressive pretending to be compassionate, they are enabling the behavior that keeps them on the street.

It’s not compassionate to let people live a drug-addicted lifestyle. It’s not compassionate to let these people do drugs and litter their needles around children. And it’s not compassionate to lie and pretend this has anything to do with a lack of housing.

California spends billions of dollars on the “homeless crisis” every year. And that number just keeps on growing. So rather than throw more and more money that arguably enables the situation to get worse, there is a simple answer to all of this.

Enforce laws related to drug use and property crimes. And instead of using “housing” as the solution, drug treatment/recovery is the only way. And it should not be a choice. They should be forced into recovery. People should not have the “freedom” to live like that. You would never let someone you love or care about “choose” to live like that.

So although Progressives want to pretend they are the most compassionate members of society, they not only created this mess, but they are funding this mess. And that is the most evil thing you can do for these people.
