SCOTUS To Hear Case On Religious Exemption For Forcing LGBT Books In Public Schools
A district has decided that because parents send their kids to public schools, it gives school officials the ability to override the religious exemptions of parents. However, the only problem with that is that you cannot do that in America, which is exactly why the highest court of the land will take up a case regarding just that.

The Montgomery County Board of Education decided that it’s well within its authority to mandate explicit LGBT propaganda and restrict parents from opting their kids out. But given this little thing called the “First Amendment,” the parents of Muslim, Catholic, and Ukrainian Orthodox kids sued the school.
According to The Post Millennial:
The Supreme Court will hear arguments on Tuesday in a case brought forth by Maryland parents against Montgomery County Board of Education members over the mandated inclusion of storybooks that "celebrate gender transitions, explore Pride parades, and introduce same-sex romance between young children."
The parents sued the school after the board removed their ability to opt their children out of the readings. They argue that requiring their young children "to participate in instruction contrary to their parents’ religious convictions violated the Free Exercise Clause."
The board had stated in March 2023 that a notification would go out to parents before such a book is read to the students and parents could opt their children out, but reversed course the following day, stating that in the 2023-24 shcool year, "no further notice would be provided and no opt-outs tolerated as to the storybooks."
The district implies that the justification to replace the religious wishes of the parents with woke orthodoxy is that they de facto consented to it when they enrolled their kids in public schools. And to call that insane would be an understatement.
The petition to the Supreme Court cited a lower court’s ruling on the matter, "that parents essentially surrender their right to direct the religious upbringing of their children by sending them to public schools," which "contradicts centuries of our history and traditions. Those traditions uphold what the decision below tears down: parents’ right to protect their children’s innocence and direct their religious upbringing."
The “justification” the school made is so infuriating, it’s unclear where to begin.
Firstly, the board of education works for the parents and not the other way around. Secondly, why are they so invested in teaching kids about “gender transitions, Pride parades, and same-sex romance between young children?”
Back in my day, we used to call these sorts of people groomers, but according to the district, this is nothing more than the parents “surrendering their right to direct the religious upbringing of their children by sending them to public schools.”
It’s a scandal that the school wants to force this agenda on children, but it becomes a national scandal when officials start demanding they know what's best at the expense of parental rights. And it’s even more deranged that many now lead our nation's public schools.
This is not about teaching kids to respect all people, despite their insignificant character traits; this is about a school demanding kids learn about “same-sex romance between young children,” and the fact that this is controversial is another scandal in itself.
The Trump Administration has also issued a brief supporting the parents, stating that the school has no right to refuse parents the ability "to opt their children out of compulsory classroom instruction that contravenes the parents’ religious obligations to their children."
1 day to go! Religious parents in Montgomery County, Maryland are asking the Supreme Court to restore their right to opt their children out of storybooks that push extreme ideology regarding gender and sexuality. The Supreme Court will hear the parents’ case tomorrow. ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/SyraB1i3gE

Somewhere along the progressive path to destruction, the left decided that they know best and have fought tooth and nail since then to destroy parental rights. However, that is something that will always be deeply unpopular with the American people, and the sooner they realize this, the better off everyone will be.
