WHOOPS: Katie Couric's Producers BROKE Federal Gun Laws for Anti-Gun 'Documentary'...
We've been laughing at the epic Katie Couric fail over her anti-gun film, aptly named Under the Gun (see Uh Oh. EPIX Pulls Katie Couric Documentary Amid Scandal… and RED-HANDED: Katie Couric Caught Editing Video to Push Anti-Gun Lies…), but as the smoking gun shows, apparently there are issues behind the scenes.
Turns out in order to make this anti-gun film, producers broke federal gun laws. The Federalist was able to get comment from the producers...
“While it may seem hard to believe that one could buy these types of guns this easily, all purchases in the film were made completely legally. Arizona law allows out-of-state residents to buy long guns (i.e. rifles, shotguns, military style assault rifles) from a private seller without a background check. It also allows Arizona residents to buy handguns from a private seller without a background check.
Except not really. Here's the problem. The Federalist did a little reporting. Reporting is when a person or persons do research to find out things. Might be a new concept to some. Ergo defining "reporting." You're welcome leftists. Anyway, a person on a "fact-finding" mission spoke to a big licensed dealer in Arizona - someone who would need to know all the laws in order to be a licensed dealer in the first place - and that dealer says the producers' comments?
“Absolutely not!” the licensed gun dealer said during a phone conversation on Monday afternoon. “We’re talking about federal law here. If you are not an Arizona resident, you cannot legally buy a gun here without going through an FFL.”“An Arizona FFL can process a long gun purchase and the background check for an out of state buyer,” he said. “Otherwise, an FFL in the buyer’s home state has to process the transaction.”
Which means dearest Katiekins and her crew, in order to show how terrible gun laws and gun owners are, broke the law. Which means in order for Katie Couric to paint the gun culture as a flaming pile of hate, violence, innocent child-killing (not abortion, that's a sacrament of the left. Get it straight), and all the other terrible things anti-gun turdbombs believe the gun culture to be, Katie Couric gave the middle finger to existing laws.
But hey, her intentions were honorable, you guys. She just cares more than you.
Leftists hate guns. Not news. But breaking federal gun laws for your anti-gun film in order to change how the country views guns, the gun culture, and people who own guns? Downright shameful. Not a word I use lightly or liberally. But completely applicable here.
Of course the leftist media will try to sweep this under their proverbial rug, where the rest of the bodies are buried. Because all that matters were Couric's "honorable" intentions. Those intentions being guns are big meanies. The boom-boom sticks must go. Say no to the bang bangs.
Lying about existing gun laws is par for the course in the leftist world of "gunz are sucky." You know how Obama is always banging on about the gun show "loophole"? Yeah, that's a myth. Here, we busted it for you.
