MSNBC: 'Hillary Clinton is in Full Meltdown...'
While the GOP Primary has been fun to watch, the end of Hillary Clinton has been and will continue to be much more entertaining. She is currently still in a virtual tie with Bernie Sanders for Iowa. So how is she taking the news?
I believe the word "meltdown" sums things up perfectly...
I think we’ve learned that they were in a meltdown as this race got closer and closer, and they started, you know, e-mailing that they were going to win, because they felt that Polk County and Dubuque County, their strongholds, still had not been counted, and this was the first, first hint of anything from them all night saying that they were going to win. So we transmitted that to you, pointing out that NBC News and no one else had declared them the victors, and they came out here having said that Chelsea Clinton, Bill Clinton, and then Hillary Clinton were going to speak. Then they were going to work the rope lines. Instead what you saw was her saying – without any comments from her husband or her daughter – that she was breathing a sigh of relief. So it isn't quite analogous but it certainly is her presenting herself, and, as you all pointed out, in the middle of Ted Cruz’s victory speech, coming up on stage with no warning. The staff did not know. The television pool traveling with her from the ABC network did not know. Apologies went all around to everyone in this room because they did not know she was walking out on that stage when she did.
Hillary walks warily down the street with her brim pulled way down low...
Sorry, I just wanted to paint a mental picture there. Speaking of mental, back to Hillary.
Even with Hillary winning by coin-tosses here, this can hardly be considered a victory. She barely squeaked a decision by an opponent she was once leading by over fifty points. Not only that, but with all of the Bernie fans/campaigners claiming foul play from Hillary, this is a rough week for her.
But for everyone else, it's grand. Allow me to explain. For years, Conservatives have trumpeted the idea that Hillary Clinton (and her husband) is a criminal. That she's helped cover up sexual assaults on behalf of her husband, that many people who were involved with those affairs died under suspicious circumstances (*cough* Vince Foster *cough*) and that she flat-out lied about the deaths of American soldiers in Benghazi. Leftists denied said accusations vehemently. Why? For one reason only, in that Hillary Clinton is a Democrat. But now that she's used the same under-handed approach with Bernie Sanders, the new kid on the block, the criminality of the Clintons has been exposed to an entire generation of young liberals who'd had their blinders on.
Sure, Hillary may win. But forevermore, her innocence, even to young liberals, is going to be a tough sell from here on out.
