Desperate MSNBC Shamelessly Plays Race Card Against Gold Star Father General Kelly
Couple of things before you watch the video: the media is desperate to make a Trump phone call into a national scandal. A phone call. Meanwhile, there's an investigation about Russia's participation in a nuclear bribery plot. In the United States. Which happened under Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Obviously the media is trying to stir all the pots. We now have wall to wall coverage of emotional jabs from one gold star family to another. Who called who on what phone and used what insult. And whether or not Fredericka Wilson is allowed in the Cool Book. Or if she has to sit in the cafeteria alone with her fabulous hats. We wear pink on Fridays, Fredericka.
Here's known asshole Lawrence O'Donnell setting up a long, convoluted case about how John Kelly is a racist meanie pants:
"But I was stunned, stunned when I watched him demonize her and very deliberately continue to dehumanize her and refuse to give her the dignity of a name and call her an empty barrel. he went out of his way to do it.”
Reminder, this all started with a phone call.
Here's fellow MSNBC cohort, Joy Reid piling on over the "empty barrel" insult. I have some thoughts, but here's Joy racing to her keyboard to peck out "wow."
Wow. @Lawrence scorched General Kelly tonight, including calling out his segregated Boston upbringing and dehumanization of a black woman.— Joy Reid (@Joy Reid) 1508476169.0
I'm not sure "scorched" is the word I'd use. "Pathetic" to find a scandal over a phone call. A. Phone. Call.
@Lawrence Wow wow wow. @lawrence noted that Gen. Kelly didn’t even give @RepWilson the dignity of using her name.— Joy Reid (@Joy Reid) 1508476230.0
More wows. Here's what I have a "wow" for: the insult "empty barrel" is hardly a racial one, more a "you've got nothing to fire at me, you're just making a lot of noise." An insult which makes sense coming from a man in the military.
@Lawrence @RepWilson Kelly grew up in segregated Boston, in an Irish Catholic neighborhood where women were bullied… https://t.co/D1SLSDtvch— Joy Reid (@Joy Reid) 1508476282.0
So to be clear, not only is John Kelly racist for criticizing a Congresswoman (not in a racial way at all, mind you, but by referring to her as an "empty barrel"), but so is everyone who grew up in Boston. MSNBC has tied a phone call from Donald Trump into a throwback to the civil rights era and how racist everyone in Boston once was. I guess no one is allowed to insult anyone if they have a different skin tone. For whatever reason. Sounds like equality, all right.
If you're looking for evidence as to why America has pulled the plug on cable and doesn't take news seriously, this is why. Oh, here's that report about Russia getting nuclear information under Obama's watch. I know media would rather talk about phone calls, but I rather think a nuclear scandal with a global power is maybe, slightly more important: Bombshell! FBI Uncovers Russian Nuclear Plot. Which Happened Under Obama, Hillary.
