The White House Correspondent's Dinner was Saturday night. "Nerd prom"--as it's affectionately referred to by geeks, dweebs, and losers--is a lot like the Oscars, only more insufferable. Instead of celebrities giving themselves reach-arounds, it's journalismers, journalismers who party with the elected officials they are supposed to be holding accountable. It used to be a single dinner where they raised money for a scholarship. It's turned into a week-long event where politicians (mostly Democrats) party with the two groups who haven't turned on them yet: celebrities and the corporate media. The relationship has become so gross that even Christine Pelosi is calling it out.

I'm sure I don't know what she's talking about...

Ok, there it is.

To unintentionally prove her point, Axios listed NINETEEN different events over a course of a four-day period, including events hosted by NBC News, CNN, Politico, Paramount, and VICE. No parties thrown by Fox News.

There is a chance Pelosi is being sarcastic and I'm missing it. Maybe she wanted to draw attention to her mom doing a more serious thing by visiting Ukraine. Or, maybe, the corporate media meltdowns over an African-American entrepreneur buying a company are a bit much even for Christine Pelosi.

On one hand, you have Musk, who wants more speech not less. And on the other hand, you have corporate media and Democrats--two groups who use scare quotes around "free speech"--doing keg stands together and expecting the American people to believe one group covers the other group honestly.

There is a reason Joe Biden called the media the one group with a lower approval rating than him. It's one of the few things Biden has said that's true.
