Democrats have a likability problem. It's so bad that the unlikable Nancy Pelosi found herself defending the less likable Joe Biden on CNN, where she avoided saying the even less likable Kamala Harris should be Biden's running mate in 2024.

If you're a political hack, it should be a simple answer to a question that literally gets asked every presidential cycle.

Q: Should the president keep the vice president as their running mate?

A: Yes.

Instead, Nancy could barely even muster up a "Biden thinks so, and that's what matters" before tossing the word salad.

"Her values are consistent with the president's values. Why would she be vice president if she were not?"

Well, she's vice president because Biden was told he needed to pick a black woman and he chose the one who, during the 2008 primary, called him racist that probably sexually assaulted his aide. That isn't to say there aren't others whose "values" are consistent with the president's who would check off the same boxes.

Then Nancy said the question doesn't matter because the vice president doesn't do much anyway. But, Kamala's "a source of strength, inspiration, intellectual resource and the rest and I think she's represented our country very well at home and abroad.

Riiiiiiiight.

However, in Kamala's defense, the worst part of Nancy's interview came with another question she could have answered "no" to, but did not.

CNN: Is there any chance Biden does not continue running?

Pelosi: I hope not, I hope not.

So what you're saying is there's a chance.
