Nancy Pelosi Tells Us What We Can Learn From Drag Queens
Nancy PeLOLsi is a national treasure. The greatest Democrat leader who has ever lived (see Report: Middle America Likes Their ‘Crumbs.’ Don’t Tell Nancy Pelosi… and Nancy Pelosi vs Reality on the Trump Tax Cuts). Her programmers decided to appear on trend, she should appear on Ru Paul's Drag Race. Yes, Nancy and drag queens. Sadly, they weren't all dressed like her. More sadly, she'd probably win if they were.
Minority Leader PeLOLsi sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to share the experience. This question is my favorite.
HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: What could politicians learn from drag queens?PELOLSI: Authenticity. Taking pride in who you are. Knowing your power — that’s what I talk about on my brief segment on the show. This idea of people believing in themselves, being themselves, taking pride in themselves, is not just a lesson for politicians but for everyone in the country. And that’s why I was so excited and couldn’t resist being on the show
Wait, I forgot the video.
I should be making fun of what she said. We should "learn authenticity" from men who dress like women. That's gold. There’s probably even a joke about self-identifying as a Congressional leader who isn't failure.
But in my brain, I'm stuck on Nancy as a new drag queen icon. The Judy Garland of 2018. Maybe the Cher or Dolly Parton. Every year during the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, there's going to be a troupe of Pelosis marching. Each of them throwing "crumbs" at the peons. Maybe an annual PeLOLsi convention. Where busses full of queens dress like Nancy all converge at a convention center in Secaucus.
God, I don't ask for much. But please give us this.
