It is a day ending in "Y," so of course, either a Democrat or someone in the media (but I repeat myself) is lying about how extreme Democrats are on abortion. Yesterday's version took the form of an NBC News interview between Dasha Burns and Republican Presidential Candidate Ron DeSantis.

The Left has signaled they are going to make abortion the main part of their campaign (other than screwing your daughters out of athletic opportunities). It makes perfect sense for them to do so since unmarried women are singlehandedly keeping the party afloat. DeSantis made the factually accurate comment that Democrats support abortion until birth and Burns had to push back on that for some reason.

DeSantis was all like, "I would not allow what a lot of the left wants to do, which is to override pro-life protections throughout the country all the way up really until the moment of birth in some instances, which I think is infanticide."

Then Burns was all like, "Well, actually, I gotta push back on that because that’s a misrepresentation of what’s happening. I mean 1.3%of abortions happen at 21 weeks or higher, and there’s no evidence of Democrats pushing for abortions up until..."

1.3% of 930000 annual abortions is still 12,000 babies killed every year. But the talking point is that Democrats don't want any restrictions on abortions, even as Burns claims "There’s no indication of Democrats pushing for that."

Unless you consider all the evidence of Democrats pushing for that.

Maine Democratic Gov. Janet Mills signed a bill that would allow abortions at any time "if deemed medically necessary."

Colorado under Democrat Gov. Jared Polis signed a law guaranteeing any form of an abortion at any time for any reason.

New York bragged about having the most extreme pro-abortion bill. If you give NY Democrats a few more election cycles, they'll have abortion legal to the seventh trimester.

And the coup de gras, the bill to "codify Roe" that Biden is making a cornerstone of his reelection campaign will make abortion legal through nine months and nullify any pro-life legislation that individual states have passed.

None of us should be surprised that the Democrats' 2024 campaign is going to be focused on a) abortion, b) Trump, and c) lying about abortion. We need to be prepared to counter their attacks. And by "their," that means Democrats AND the media. But again, I repeat myself.
