NBC plans to reboot "The Office," it's the worst idea we've heard since Joe Biden announced reelection
The debate over The Office stems from whether or not you could make it today. It's the new Blazing Saddles as a measuring stick for political correctness. Of course, you COULD make it today. It was the most popular streamed show during the pandemic, regardless of how many humorless, woke, leftist twats whine on X and on their corporate media-owned blogs about how "problematic" the show is. Also, Steve Carell and Mindy Kaling.
We've been having the wrong debate. The question isn't if you COULD make it today. The question is if you SHOULD make it today. The answer is, of course, no. So, of course, NBC has plans to reboot it.
Allegedly, I guess. The Internet is freaking out about a sentence from Puck News about the end of the Hollywood strike, focusing on what the future of the entertainment industry holds.
“Greg Daniels is set to do a reboot of The Office, for instance."
In an article about the end of the Hollywood strike, the first projects mentioned are REBOOTS of older shows instead of original material. If you were wondering why so few Americans gave a rip about the plight of Hollywood, that is one of many reasons. The top issue is... wait, Hollywood went on strike?
The Office is revered here at the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website. All new employees are given a test on communication using nothing but .gifs from the show. We need to make sure you're one of us.

Rebooting The Office would suck for one of two reasons. The first would be if it was done to pander to the sensibilities of the people who hate the show and any comedy that doesn't validate their progressive worldview. The show would be geared towards getting attaboys from leftist peers living in Park Slope and Los Angeles, and no one else.
The other would be if it wound up like most reboots and is nothing more than a bad parody of the source material. Isolate what a board room thinks was funny about the first show, and run that premise into the ground. Sprinkle in a liberal amount of corny references from the first show. Dylan gets angry because Jeffrey put her vape in a Jell-O mold.
I'll give NBC 17% percent credit. The Night Court reboot wasn't terrible. But I trust them to reboot The Office as much as I trust them to reboot The West Wing.
And no, NBC. Don't do that either.
