I get confused by the rules. Is this new CNN poll rigged or not? Because it has Donald Trump in the lead, and Hillary Clinton completely losing her post convention bump. 'Cause it seems like if one candidate is leading over the other, the campaign team of the other candidate cries "rigged." Hence, confusion. Deep confusion.

Donald Trump 45% vs Hillary Clinton 43%

Trump tops Clinton 45% to 43% in the new survey, with Libertarian Gary Johnson standing at 7% among likely voters in this poll and the Green Party's Jill Stein at just 2%.

Among those likely to turn out in the fall, both candidates have secured about the same share of their own partisans, but independents give Trump an edge.

Trump holds an edge over Clinton as more trusted to handle two of voters' top four issues -- the economy (56% trust Trump vs. 41% Clinton) and terrorism (51% Trump to 45% Clinton). Clinton holds a solid edge on foreign policy (56% trust her to Trump's 40%). The public is divided over the fourth issue in the bunch, immigration. On that, 49% favor Clinton's approach, 47% Trump's.

Trump has his largest edge of the campaign as the more honest and trustworthy of the two major candidates 50% to 35%, and as the stronger leader, 50% to 42%.

Look, the polls have been all over the place. Donald Trump has been in the lead in a CNN poll before. There have been some that show how much women hate Hillary Clinton. The polls will contradict each other in two weeks, then again two weeks after that. It's why you'll never read us rant about "rigged" polls.

Is Hillary evil?

I dance a fine line here, because to me it's unfathomable Hillary even polls in double digits. You know that expression "Be the kind of person, when you get out of bed, the Devil says 'Oh crap, he's awake.'" When Hillary rises from bed, the Devil wakes up too, but it's not to say "oh crap." It's to take notes. Diligent notes. He's probably sent an envoy of demons to follow her every move.

Am I saying Hillary Clinton is evil? Yes.

Am I saying she would make a terrible president? Yes. Am I saying she's a lying liar who lies? Yes. Am I a sexist for saying Hillary Clinton is the moral equivalent of a fork-tongued serpent? If we've redefined the word "sexist" to include "draws parallels between Hillary Clinton and the demons of Hell" then sure. If the shoe fits, I'll wear it. Hopefully it makes my legs look longer.

Hillary's also a symptom...

So that Trump is up a few points over Hillary, great. But in my opinion it should be a much greater lead. Whatever you think about Donald Trump, he's not evil. That I even had to make the distinction saddens me. This is our election, you guys. "Not Evil but Orange, says 'Frankly' a lot" versus "She-Demon of The Seven Levels of Hell, wears pantsuits." I'm changing the hashtag from #ImWithHer to #ImInHell.

And yet, people are still voting for Hillary Clinton. They're still supporting her. Actively supporting her. With bumperstickers. Hashtags. Their eventual votes. Yes, Hillary Clinton is a problem. But she's also a symptom. Even the people who are actively supporting her know she's a liar, that she's untrustworthy. They're still voting for her to lead the entire country. On the world stage.

Still, bad news for Hillary Clinton is bad new for Hillary Clinton and is good news for America...
