There’s extreme contrast between how red states and blue states are reacting to the increased influx of illegal migrants under the Biden administration. Frustrated with the crowds of illegals crossing the border, Texas has decided to start shipping apprehended aliens to Washington, DC. Florida promises a similar approach, vowing to send the state’s illegal immigrants up to Biden’s home state of Delaware. But if we turn to New Mexico, they’re pointing migrants to the college campuses, saying, “It’s on us!”

After Democrat governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed the New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship Act, 35,000 illegal immigrants, incarcerates prisoners, and “tribal nation” students will be eligible to go to school on the state’s dime, reports Campus Reform.

The scholarship program will cost $75M in 2023, $63M of which will come from pandemic cash handed out by the federal government. How college scholarships have anything to do with a pandemic that is effectively over, I cannot understand, and I’m sure no one in New Mexico’s government will bother to explain, either. Just know that taxpayer dollars that were supposed to aid in ending the pandemic were held onto to give illegal immigrants free college.

Of course, the state only has so much COVID cash, and next year, the government will have to find another source to finance such a moronic program. I’m guessing they will raise taxes on their citizens. Congratulations, New Mexico! You might quickly become the new California!

I can’t stand government spending. I’m one of those angry libertarians who believe the government should be as small as possible and spend as few taxpayer dollars as possible. I’m a fan of privatizing as much as can be to keep the government from f*cking things up because it sucks at literally everything except blowing taxpayer dollars on stupid things.

So, when I see news like this, I think about how angry I’d be to hear my state government is doing something like this, and I wonder why anyone would just sit by and continue allowing it. Dem voters are a different breed, though: squishy, neurotic, spineless, with bleed hearts the size of their bloated government budgets.

Maybe Texas and Florida can send some migrants over to New Mexico, too. I’m sure the state would welcome them with open arms as they get them settled into the dorms.
