But a New York man killing someone because he thought the person was the President-elect is by far the worst one...

The Dryden man accused of killing a UPS driver in the parking lot of an Ithaca Walmart claimed in court Monday he believed he shot and killed President-elect Donald Trump.

Justin Barkley, 38, was in Tompkins County Court on Monday to plead guilty to the murder of 52-year-old Candor resident William Schumacher on Dec. 8 outside the Walmart store at 135 Fairgrounds Memorial Parkway in Ithaca. Judge John Rowley did not accept the plea following Barkley’s comments about Trump and adjourned the indictment to Jan. 6.

Rowley also ordered Barkley to be evaluated to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.

My guess is no, he's not mentally competent.

And I want to be careful with the snark here, because the story is tragic. There's a family in upstate New York who is going to forever associate the holidays with a loved one being murdered. But riddle me this: what if it this story was about someone killing a truck driver because they thought the driver was Hillary or Obama? How much of a national news story would it be?

Don't answer that.

So clearly this man is unhinged. Why oh why would the president-elect be driving a UPS truck at all? Much less during the hectic Christmas season? No one actually wants to deliver packages around Christmas. So it makes zero sense for a billionaire tycoon turned president to deliver boxes wrapped with care.

Look, there's only one person responsible for the death of this UPS driver: the man who shot him in the chest. But the killer probably felt justified in his killing. That's the problem when the media or the left falsely paints their opposition as racist, sexist, bigoted devils. Unhinged loons like Justin Barkley take action into their own deranged hands.
