Thursday night was the opening of the 2025 NFL Draft. It was a good night for the New York Giants fans in my group chat (shouts to them). It was a bad night for Shedeur Sanders. The highlight was Donald Trump's "cameo," if you will. I say "cameo" with finger quotes because the President was in DC making America great again, but his presence was felt, as was the tightening of Roger Goodell's sphincter when "Trump" was spoken.

The event took place in Green Bay and was opened up by Packers legend (and star of Pitch Perfect 2) Clay Matthews, who had just gotten off the phone with one President Donald J. Trump. The former Linebacker was asked to relay a message.

THE BEARS STILL SUUUUUUCK!

Some of you may not understand the joke. Perhaps you don't watch football, or are the person who isn't pleasant to be around that always screams "BREAD AND CIRCUSES" whenever we take a break from politics to acknowledge something fun. Allow me to explain what makes this a funny troll:

a) The Packers and the Bears are division rivals.

b) The Packers regularly own the Bears on a regular basis.

c) The Bears do, point of fact, su-diddly-uck.

The question is how exactly the political world can blow this out of proportion. Chicago is in Illinois, and as luck would have it, Gov. Tons of Fun, JB Pritzker, is rumored to be a presidential candidate in 2028. You can't miss him. He's one of the billionaires who controls the Democrat Party, and looks like he is a Twinkie away from a triple bypass (yet claims RFK Jr.'s health views are dangerous).

Will he accept the joke for what it is? Or will he demand to have the transcript released of Trump insulting the "great" people of Illinois on the phone to Clay Mathews? We'll have to wait until the focus groups come back with Pritzker's opinion.
