Well, this new poll just proved us right...

National anthem protests were the top reason that NFL fans watched fewer games last season, according to a new survey released by J.D. Power.

The pollster said it asked more than 9,200 people who attended either one football, basketball or hockey game whether they tuned into fewer games and why. Twenty-six percent of those who watched fewer games last season said that national anthem protests, some of which were led by Colin Kaepernick, were the reason.

After that, 24 percent of those surveyed who said they watched fewer games said they did so either because of the league's off-the-field image issues with domestic violence or with game delays, including penalties.

Well, color me shocked.

This might come as a shocker. Most guys, who spend their whole week being called racist. sexist homophobes? They just want to spend a couple hours on a Sunday, noshing on chicken wings and watching ACLs get torn. Football was their time away from politics and social justice. But, that was back before Colin Kaepernick needed a new gimmick to save his fading career.

Despite what leftists will tell you, most of us like America. Go to a gathering of football lovers on gameday. You're not going to find many neon-haired, septum-pierced genderqueers in attendance. So, when the NFL allows a prominent quarterback to take a dump on Old Glory each weekend, they shouldn't be surprised when their numbers go into the toilet. It's not the first time something like this has happened.

These ratings are a clear signal as to what the people want, and more leftist grandstanding it is not. Most people use entertainment as a temporary distraction from the depressing absurdity of everyday life. The NFL can choose to provide that escapism, or eventually someone else will do it. The choice is entirely up to them.

You may be thinking to yourself the NFL will have completely learned its lesson and this season will be totes politics free. But, if their peers in the entertainment industry are any indication, I wouldn't count on it. The anti-conservative propaganda machine will keep churning out drivel.
