Elon Musk has been in the news lately. I mean, he seems to always be in the news for one thing or another, but this latest episode has been due to what now appears to have been an unsubstantiated, vicious attempt at smearing him by the Wall Street Journal. The outlet claimed that the billionaire had engaged in an affair with Google co-Founder Sergey Brin's wife.

And while Musk immediately denied the allegations, and Mama Musk quickly came to her son's defense--pointing out that this isn't the first time the media has come for Baby Musk's head--we hadn't been presented with much in the way of clear evidence to the contrary outside the image of Musk and Sergey partying it up together recently.

Well... That evidence is now here, and it's in the form of Brin's estranged wife, Nicole Shanahan.

According to Page Six, Shanahan is calling the claim an outright lie. "Make no mistake," says her attorney, speaking on her behalf, "any suggestion that Nicole had an affair with Elon Musk is not only an outright lie but defamatory."

In no uncertain terms, that sounds a lot like the Wall Street Journal's original story was full of sh*t.

Musk was once a darling of the left, leading the pack in the development of electric vehicles and aiding in the fight against climate change. But ever since Musk began to vocally defend free speech and capitalism, well, that just wouldn't do, and his efforts to purchase Twitter have only caused the smoldering embers of leftist hatred to burst into roaring flames.

This story may be dead in the water now, but I am guessing someone over at the Times or something is already working on the next hatchet job.
