South Dakota Governor Filmed An Infomercial For Her Dentist In Texas And The Internet Is Confused

Kristi Noem was in a biking accident. She's okay but needed to get some dental work done. She went to Smile Texas, in case you were wondering. I know this because as the Governor of South Dakota, she just filmed an infomercial for the dentist that did her veneers.
It is not every day that you see an elected official engage in a marketing campaign that is not much different than something you would see from a social media influencer. But to be fair, Noem has more class than most Instagram models.
Do I care that she did this? No, I think it’s hilarious. Although, I would not recommend elected officials start blasting out infomercials. But that’s just my unprofessional opinion. I don’t care.
Some are asking, can a governor do this?
And to that, I say: Yes?
At least she wasn’t bought by Pfizer. Well, I guess dental care can be included in the Big Pharma bandwagon, which is the largest spender on lobbying efforts, totaling at least $379 million. But for the sake of this article, we will go with the assumption that she is advertising a private dental studio and nothing more.
It was also posted on her personal page and not her official governor account. She is still an American citizen after all. This is still a free country. Therefore, it is probably safe to conclude that this is perfectly lawful.
The worst thing about the video is that she is promoting a dental studio in another state. Surely, you can get veneers in all 50 states, including Puerto Rico and Washington D.C.
That is one way to put it. But hey, "Don't hate the player, hate the game."
I may or may not be bitter if I owned a cosmetic dental studio in South Dakota. But this is by no means an act worthy of condemnation. Maybe out of the ordinary. But this is why we have the saying: no harm, no foul. And don't you wish you were so ecstatic about your smile that it made you "cry"?
“It means a lot to me that something as small as your smile really can change the world,” she said. “I think that people’s first impressions of you are important, and I want people to know how much I enjoy seeing them and how much I love being with people, and the fact that he gave me the smile to do that now — I’ll be eternally grateful.”
I doubt her smile will "change the world" but at least she is " eternally grateful.”
Anyway, at least she will have a great smile if she becomes Trump’s running mate!
