The left and its infinite amount of sub-groups are obsessed with finding bigotry in everything. Progressives search every nook and cranny of existence for racism, sexism, and every other type of "ism." In their minds, each leftist must fancy themselves a cunning sleuth, a la Sherlock Holmes. To the rest of the world, they come off more Finding Bigfoot. Their latest finding? Apparently, black silhouette targets are racist and get innocent people of color killed. Naturally, the targets must be banned...

Young black men are 3X more likely to be shot by trained shooters than their white peers. A disturbing potential correlation: The most popular target for shooters to learn to use their firearm is a black silhouette. Unconscious bias can be deadly.

An academic study published by University of Illinois researchers drew together findings from 42 different studies on trigger bias to examine whether race affects how likely a target is to be shot.

"What we found is that it does," Mekawi told NPR's Arun Rath, who covered the story.

"In our study we found two main things: First, people were quicker to shoot black targets with a gun, relative to white targets with a gun. And ... people were more trigger-happy when shooting black targets compared to shooting white targets."

That is, shooters weren't just faster to fire at black targets; they were also more likely to fire at a black target. This petition seeks to eliminate the use of the most popular target for shooters to learn to use their firearm: a menacing black silhouette.

The targets barely resemble a human, let alone a human of the African-American persuasion. If the targets were fully illustrated and adorned with a pair of Jordans and a Lakers jersey, this group might have an argument, but 'tis not the case. A featureless blob of onyx ink doth not equal racism, no matter how much leftists might wish.

Silhouettes come in a plethora of colors. From blue, to orange, even green. By the group's logic, there should be a Muppet holocaust underway. Yet, Kermit, Fozzy, and Gonzo remain unscathed. Here's a shocker. The targets also come in white. As in pastier than Emma Stone. So there's that.

This push is yet another attempt by the left to cry racism where there is none to be found. Leftists believe the Grammys, grammar, and even climate change are attempts by the honkies at keeping the black man down. In reality, those charges amount to nothing more than Illuminati-level conspiracy theories. Add this brouhaha about targets to that list.

More importantly, if racism is such a prominent, deep-rooted problem, whey are groups like this digging so hard to find it? Edible nibbles for gluttonous devouring...
