He's Back! Norm Macdonald Blasts SNL, Political Correctness
Norm Macdonald is one of those old school guys who never stops being cool. See also Norm MacDonald on PC Culture: “It’s a way of marginalizing normal people.” and Norm Macdonald: 'Hillary is the Most Corrupt Person in the White House...' He tends to have something to say when it comes to calling out the left for their wimpish political correctness. Of course, said political correctness has reached a fever pitch in recent months. So Matt Wilstein from The Daily Beast sat down to chat with Norm regarding the current "OUTRAGE!" climate. As per usual, Norm didn't disappoint.
MW: Did you watch Saturday Night Live this past season?NM: Oh yeah. Oh my god, did you see that? And this wasn't even a tragedy; just a guy got elected. They open the show with Kate McKinnon singing "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen. At the end, Kate McKinnon said, "I'm going to get through this and so are you." I was like, what the fuck are we getting through? That a man was duly elected president? What are you, crazy? You think I can't get through a man getting elected president of the United States? It was so absurd that, for some reason, she was the one that was supposed to let me know that it's alright to go on. Nothing exploded.
It appears Norm's annoyance here is in reference to post-election SNL displaying a slew of liberal whinefests. Macdonald brings up a good point - while these spineless amoebas are busy likening Trump to a dictator, they forget he was rightfully elected. Not everyone needs a safe space in which to boohoo after an election.
MW: Do you think that comedians owe [Caitlyn Jenner] an apology for making jokes during her transition?NM: No ... You can just do a joke about being confused about the transgender thing. And that's the thing that I find funny, is that everyone [is expected to] just understand it completely, in a day. My jokes all came from confusion. The one question I had [for Jenner] is, what's a woman? She couldn't answer it. That's what I find most confusing about it. And he had no answer. Or she, rather. You get in trouble for pronouns. She had no answer for what a woman was because women like to pretend that women and men are the exact same. But then if they are, they can't say they are women trapped inside man's bodies.
Norm hit the nail on its tranny head. If women and men are the same, what's the point of transgenderism? Fret not. Tis a rhetorical question lacking in the answer department. Leftism has twisted itself into a pretzel trying to appeal to all the crazy. The result is chaos. Which is why we have things like this: Hypocritical Leftists Praise Transgenders. Ridicule White Woman for 'Black Transition'... and College Students Hate Trump's First 100 Days. Except They're Really Obama's...
Norm Macdonald is from a time where gender was less liquid and jokes could be made sans hate speech fines. But modern leftism - the mutated bastard of classic liberalism - has put an end to that. Chalk it up to progress.
