North Carolina is a state famous for giving unto the world NASCAR, "Catfish" Hunter, and the finest pulled pork barbecue to ever grace God's green earth. Also, for passing a law that says boys should use the boy's room and girls should use the girl's room. Otherwise known as common sense. But, unfortunately, not all Tar Heels live with the rest of us in the realm of sanity. Some North Carolinians thought it a good idea to teach first graders about the trannies...

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system in North Carolina was going to use a book about a boy who likes to wear dresses as part of a first-grade lesson on what to do when someone is bullied.

But school administrators this week pulled the book, “Jacob’s New Dress,” after critics complained about its content.

The book came under fire from the North Carolina Values Coalition, a conservative group that promotes “pro-family positions,” according to its website.

Tami Fitzgerald, the executive director of the coalition, said that no notice was given to parents about the book and that it was sprung on teachers only days before it was supposed to be used.

“I read the book online,” she said. “It’s clearly geared to young children. The book is meant as a tool of indoctrination to normalize transgender behavior. I think a lot of parents would object to that.”

It seems some people aren't too interested in their impressionable kiddos going straight from diapers to cross-dressing...

Some might take offense, but the fact is six-year-olds aren't the brightest lot. As if believing in the Easter Bunny, pretending to fly, and licking grocery carts weren't strong enough signs. Those kiddies are still a notch or two smarter than the leftist school board members who think small children are capable of understanding the ins and outs of trannydom. They're in a whole class of stupid to themselves.

We all wonder why each generation is coming out dumber than the last. Well, I'll go out on a limb and say this is one of the reasons. Our schools have set self-esteem, men's menstruation, and little boys in sundresses as their top priorities. Math, reading, and science, on the other hand?

The school board, to their credit, can at least take a hint. They nixed the book from the curriculum after parents kicked up a fuss. But this whole kerfuffle sends a pretty clear message from parents to the school board. Ditch the indoctrination and focus on the education. Maybe leave things like the tranny lessons for the parents to teach. Sounds simple enough.

Let this be an inspirational lesson. All hope is not lost. Pushback works.
